Industry experts cautiously estimate that 15 to 25 per cent of the world’s cranes are in Dubai. Some US$ 90 BILLION are on-going in Dubai alone.
Also, I recently saw an article on a local(Belgian) tv-station, Kanaal3, about Belgian dredging company Jan De Nul building a 310-hectare island on Dubai waterfront.

btw I hate that whole Web 2.0/Ajax hype. Not because of the concept, the concept is great, but these days everybody wants Ajax on their site, cause they’ve seen it on Gmail.
Everything’s got to be draggable. It’s all about minimalism, transparency, and you, your user expirience. Actually I plead guilty to the hype, I’ve got transparency on my site.

Apparently Netscape boss Jason Calacanis offered to pay Digg’s top posters (as well as the top posters on Newsvine, Flickr, Reddit, and del.icio.us) to post on netscape.com’s ripoff Digg page instead.
Digg’s Kevin Rose said some stuff on his podcast about ripping off idea’s, Calacanis took it personally and flamed back on his blog.
