One Picture Every Day parody

October 16th, 2006

pic.JPG

Watch this hilarious parody of the “One Picture Every Day” videos where someone, as you guessed, shoots a picture of himself every day for several years.
Read/watch my previous post for an example. It must have been a school assignment for some kids, cause a lot of these videos are turning up on the internet.
Anyway check the video, very funny.

The guys at Olde English, who produced the video, are actually pretty funny. Check out their blog, definitely got a spot in my bookmarks/RSS reader.

And to stay on-topic here’s a similar presentation in a not so nice way. New York City pretty girl transforms into a criminal Courtney Love.

Wally Wallington has demonstrated that he can lift a Stonehenge-sized pillar weighing 22,000 lbs and single-handedly moved a barn over 300 ft. What makes this so special is that he does it using only himself, gravity, and his incredible ingenuity.

If it tastes as good as it looks, I’m there. I’m a coffee addict you know.

Google Buys YouTube

October 14th, 2006

gootube_1.jpg

Apparently the rumor that Google was buying YouTube was less of a rumor than someone on the inside letting it slip out to the entire world. But now that Google’s paid $1.65 billion in an all-stock acquisition—which is their most expensive purchase so far—all 67 of YouTube’s employees are giving each other naked high fives and bathing in expensive champagne.

If you didn’t already know, Google is trying to take over the internet. I guess the competition got a little to big if you look at the Google Trends statistics of this year.
What else is next, Myspace?

The great thing is that Youtube will still run independently to preserve its successful brand and passionate community, while Google will take care of copyright infringements and legal issues.

The Aphex Twin music blends in nicely.
At the end, I think the guy let his hair grow just to make it look good in the video :-).

Still want free cartoon series?

October 8th, 2006

At one boring Sunday morning I thought I’d watch a new Family Guy episode at dailyepisodes.com as I blogged about earlier, but as I suspected they were brought down by the Fox network for linking (yes linking, they don’t host the episodes) to TV show episodes.
It has become a trend in recent months for high-powered companies to shut down websites such as this shortly after they become popular. But when one dies, three more arise, such as this one.
Tech-Nuts.com, they took their database, which is still downloadable at dailyepisodes.com, and remade the site.
It’s just a matter of time and knowing where to get your links, cause things like this’ll always be around.

Ozark henry - The Soft Machine

October 6th, 2006

So, I bought Ozark Henry’s new album The Soft Machine through itunes, unDRM’d it right away (see my previous post).
I know, couldn’t find a “free” download so I bought it, it’s just so easy with itunes. It’s more out of laziness than it is a principle. I probably wouldn’t buy it if I couldn’t rip the DRM out.

ozark.jpgAnyway it’s a good album, but I’ve gotten a bit tired of him, listened to The sailor not the sea too much, I guess. He’s got his own style which is great, very unique, but this is more of the same.
I got the same feeling with Looptroop, loved them til Fort Europa came out, now I just think it’s corny.

Maybe I’ll change my mind if I listen to it a couple more times, just thought I’d post this real quick.

Favorite tracks are We never were alone, Sun dance, Play politics.

OzarkHenry.com, nicely designed site by the way, great use of the album cover theme

iTunes 7 cracked with QTFairUse

October 4th, 2006

DVD Jon, also known as the guy that created the DeCSS software to decrypt copyright protected dvd’s, updated the open source program QTFairUse.
With this, it is now possible to crack copyright protected music bought through the iTunes music store using the new iTunes 7.
It can remove the newer version of the DRM (Digital Rights Management) from every song in your iTunes music library in a batch. Really simple, I’ve tried it and it works perfectly.

This software grabs AAC audio frames after they’re decrypted but before they’re decoded, right out of memory. It’s not being decompressed or anything, you can compare the file sizes - dumped streams are a few hundred K less than the encrypted m4ps, since the latter include artwork and other metadata

This is the link for myFairTunes V.0.2beta which is a Windows C++ Port of QTFairUse6. It’s a GUI for the QTFairUse6 app, that makes it nice and easy to rip the DRM right out of YOUR iTunes music store downloads, so you can use YOUR music however you like.
