Wintertime and Games
The wintertime is strategically planned by the gaming industry to release their most valuable videogames for the holiday shopping frenzy to begin.
While I don’t play videogames like I used to, this is the time where I can really enjoy sitting in on a cold winter night killing some terrorists or sneak-attack an unsuspecting bystander.
Since I don’t have the time or the money to play the next-gen console games, I do sporadically play quite a bit of pc games.
I’ve always been a longtime fan of Counter-Strike Source. When I’m feeling competitive, I like to pwn and flame a few clan members with my moderate skills in leetspeak.
I also bought Steam’s Orange Box for the revolutionary Portal, which I had a blast playing, a little short though. Team Fortress 2 is a nice addition.
Call of Duty 4 is my current favorite. The single player is a roller coaster ride from start to finish and the multiplayer part is extremely fun.
I was really looking forward to playing Crysis, from the creators of Far Cry, but my fairly decent 2 year old pc chokes and barely meets the minimum requirements, so that’s out.
…Oh well, less wasted time I guess.
