LCD Soundsystem’s new album Sound of Silver has been playing nonstop in my car for the past week, brilliant piece of work, definitely one of my favorites of the year. Yes, I’m also working on a “best of” list.

It's a movie making fun of making fun of a movie which works out great, Van Damme's performance impressed me with a very powerful monologue in the middle, shot with desaturated colors adds a nice touch, little cheesy but that's the point, love it.

Silly, unoriginal, staged emotional cheesiness, at times funny, standard Kevin Smith with some exceptions.

It's a dark, realistic, at times confusing tale of organized crime with powerful performances, but not my cup of tea. Still glad I watched it.

Both great actors, but themselves poorly directed which makes it that much less convincing. Kept thinking how weak the script was, so really didn't enjoy it.

It's pretty, both visual and audible. A little too slow for me. I hate when people call it minimalistic when it's just simplistic, like it's a good thing. But I was really impressed with the ending, very strong.
