A warm satisfying piece of lightly imposed drama. A joy to watch.

I’m Still Here (2010)

The documentary felt a little monotonous , the cut and paste style could be more refined. I missed some sort of moral, but the mockumentary in itself was pretty fun.
Black Swan (2010)

Super intense melodramatic film making by one of my favs. It’s a scary nightmare condensed in one epic tale.
Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole (2010)

It’s too much of a kids film for me to enjoy, but the animation and cinematography looks gorgeous which makes up for a lot.
The Other Guys (2010)

It’s a lot more fun than I expected. Sadly, falls just as fast in the Hollywood adventure premise.
Shrink (2009)

It is, mostly, unnecessarily dramatized and stale. Good acting and directing make it look good, but that’s it.
The Social Network (2010)

It surely is a great movie, but to go out on a limb and say it’s years best is probably an overstatement. Ambiance, pace, structurely near perfect, modern filmmaking at its finest.
The Last Airbender (2010)

This needed to be a big budget film. Even though it was, it never felt that way. CGI looks clumsy, acting was forced with an incomprehensible dialogue. The only thing going for it was the interesting cinematography.
The Experiment (2010)

Knowing and loving the original makes it that much harder to experience. It really doesn’t bring anything more to the table. Not even the acting impressed me.
City Island (2009)

Great, modest family film with a lot of heart and soul. Warmth and subtlety are most precious in this satisfying comedy.
Toy Story 3 (2010)

I don’t think it’s as ‘magical’ or funny as everyone else says, but a more than worthy follow-up to the pioneers of 3D cinema.
Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead (2007)

Gritty crime, superb acting make this one of my favorite movies. The dramatic tone and the constant pace just flows so evenly in this brilliant piece of filmmaking.
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010)

The CGI at times is really cool and inventive, lots of fun, but the script felt a little weak. There were too many tedious moments in such a fast paced movie, even for a kid’s movie.
Daybreakers (2009)

I think the directing is silly and cheap, but the great premise and new ideas make it still watchable, and even mildly entertaining.
Exit Through the Gift Shop (2010)

Documentary or mockumentary, the story is brilliant. Without spoiling, the ending really makes you think about what art is and how easy people’s impression of art can be manipulated.
Iron Man 2 (2010)

It doesn’t even come close to what the first movie was. It lost its magic and comes off overly arrogant with more big budget. Despite that, fun watch.
