Atlas Sound - “Recent Bedroom”
Really don’t like the video, looks so staged, but listen to that silky smooth song a couple of times.
Air - “Run”

My favorite Air track, according to Last.fm.
MP3: Air - “Run”
If you’ve never heard of the french duo Air, their band name best describes their music..
Consistency is necessary
I always try to stay consistent with my postings but I always fail. Maybe this wasn’t meant to be. Maybe josdigital wasn’t meant to be.
My statistics tell me that whenever I neglect this blog for a while, I lose a great deal of “regular” visitors. Luckily I don’t post to get visitors, or to make a statement. But I think it’s normal that you want to reach as much audience as possible when you try to get something to the outside world, even if that means leaving out your personal objections or foul language.
Rest assured that this blog isn’t going anywhere. I love to do these little postings and musical recommendations.
The real reason I haven’t touched this blog in a while, is because I finally moved out of my parents house and just haven’t had the time to check what’s happening on the internets.
dEUS - Slow
I’m pretty excited for the new dEUS album, Vantage Point. The Antwerp based band already released their groovy first single The Architect, check their myspace.
I especially like the 2nd single and video for Slow, which features Karin Dreijer Andersson from another great band, The Knife.
Check it (high-res).
Apparat - Walls
Filed under Dance, Electronic, Experimental, Music.
If you’re a regular here at Josdigital you know I’m into alternative electronic music, so this is totally my thing.
Sascha Ring aka Apparat is a well known and respected musician in the Berlin based electronic scene. With his latest effort he received a lot of critical acclaim by Pitchfork and the whole blogging community. Rightfully that is, cause Walls is as solid as Radiohead latest, and as timeless as any Boards of Canada record. Last.fm says Apparat recently became “more interested in designing sounds than beats“, which is what attracted me in the first place.
Apparat uses a lot of diverse organic sounds, mostly covered by a mellow downtempo beat, to create a very entertaining listen throughout the album.
Even though every track on this album is equally as great, “Limelight” must probably be my favorite track. In the middle of the track there’s a kind of sporadic handclap in sync with the beat that I find really appealing (kinda reminds my of BoC’s Pete Standing Alone with the robot voice).
Anyway, I highly recommend it to people that spend a lot of time in the car, or just like to chill on a late saturday morning with a self-grained cup of joe.
Kanye’s blog

Kanye’s blog is amazing.
I wonder if he really writes it himself..

Minimalism to dream away on…
Sufjan Stevens - “Palm Sunday Tornado Hits Crystal Lake”
Filed under Acoustic, Entertainment, Instrumental, Music, Video.
I consider myself a Sufjan Stevens fan. I especially like the video for this instrumental short by the singer/songwriter. So simple, yet so captivating and beautiful.
Erykah Badu - Honey
Erykah’s fourth full-length looks promising. After eight years of musical silence, New Amerykah will be the title and features a wide range of producers like Madlib, 9th Wonder and J Dilla.
I’m feeling it. The cover art looks great and her first single, Honey, is a soulful funky 9th Wonder beat overlayed with Badu’s sweet and eccentric voice, breathing on top of it.
The music video for Honey is funny, refreshing and original (apparently K-Os had that idea first, cool video btw).
Menomena - “Evil Bee”
Menomena’s Friend and Foe is one of the albums I’ve missed last year and therefor unrightfully didn’t make my list. This video for Evil Bee is a very dark and captivating story about “Bees being used as slaves to the evil tank birds and their dreams of rising up”. Very strong and original video accompanied by a fantastic song.
